Timeline:
2021 – The launch of ROUND BOX NZ happens.
2020 – Covid 19 strikes and puts ROUND BOX launch on hold.
2019 – Machinery arrives from China and the physical learning of how to make ROUND BOXes commences.
2019 – Rodney goes to China to look at machinery and get an overview of how ROUND BOXes are made.
2018 – Gary had plenty to do in his life and so resigned as a Director but retained 50% share in the business leaving Rodney as sole director.
2018 – After a bit of a facelift and tidy up the building was sold with Auckland Paper Tubes Ltd as the tenant.
2015 – The move was made to 52 Holmes Road, Manurewa.
2014 – It was time to bring everything back under one roof and so 52 Holmes Road, Manurewa was purchased.
2013 – Auckland Paper Tubes Ltd had outgrown the building in 51a Druces Road, Wiri and so rented a further space in Kerrs Road, Wiri.
2010 – Gary and Rodney started Auckland Paper Tubes Ltd in response to Gary’s business and other manufacturers experiencing subpar service from the current tube manufacturing companies in Auckland. Their business goals were to provide a quality product at a competitive price with outstanding service, these goals still hold true today.
1977 – A dream is born. At 14 years old Lynn visited her sister in the USA for Christmas. On that trip she bought gifts and had some packaged in a very novel way – put inside a tin can that was then sealed so the receiver had to use a can opener to get their gift. She often dreamed of doing that as a little business in NZ. Little did she know that 40+ years later she would be working with her husband to produce ROUND BOX Cans and ROUND BOX Telescopes….
